Dear Future
Mentorship Reinvented
Dear Future is a micro‑mentoring program for emerging fashion and creative professionals who want real‑world guidance without heavy schedules or intimidating expectations.
Over 6 weeks, mentees practice leading the conversation, sending professional‑grade emails, and asking better questions, while mentors support them through, direct, thoughtful replies they can fit into real life.
Mentorship Reimagined
Student Led
Dear Future is a lightweight, student‑led mentorship experience that sits between an informational interview and a traditional mentoring relationship. Instead of calls or recurring meetings, mentees connect with working professionals through a series of intentional emails and messages, guided by prompts that help them practice taking the lead
Support over Dictation
The program is inspired by servant‑leadership models: professionals are there to support, not direct. Mentees drive the dialogue, set their own learning goals, and learn how to communicate with clarity, respect, and initiative.

Intentional matching
Students and early‑career creatives share their interests and goals and are matched with mentors who have expertise in these areas.
Matches are made with an eye toward fit, values, and realistic expectations on both sides.
Clear orientation
Mentees receive a short guide with prompts and tips for leading the conversation.
Mentors receive a brief orientation that explains the micro‑mentorship model, time expectations, and simple ways to give honest, constructive feedback.
Micro‑mentorship
Over 6 weeks, mentees send a series of guided messages (introductions, questions, reflections, and follow‑ups).
Mentors respond when it works for them, offering context, perspective, and practical insight in direct, thoughtful replies.
Reflection and next steps
Mentees leave with a record of their outreach, feedback, and improved communication habits they can carry into internships, jobs, and future networking.
Mentors leave with the satisfaction of supporting the next generation and modeling the kind of industry culture they want to see.
Who’s It For
This program is for students who are ready to practice being professionals, and for working creatives who want to make the industry kinder, clearer, and more honest—without adding more meetings to their calendar.
Students
Support is closer than you think
Students and recent grads in fashion and creative fields who are self‑starters but feel overwhelmed about where to begin or what to focus on first.
Students who want a low‑risk place to practice professional behavior—especially email etiquette, follow‑through, and asking for feedback—before the job.
Students who are ready to take ownership of their learning and use real conversations with professionals to bridge the gap between “what school teaches” and “what the job actually needs.”
Professionals
Giving back that’s convenient for you.
Professionals with 2+ years of experience who remember how confusing the early years were and want to break the cycle of “sink‑or‑swim” learning.
People who value direct, honest, constructive conversations and want to help translate classroom learning into real‑world practice for the next generation.
Mentors who care about transparency, fairness, and building a better place to work
Busy professionals who want to contribute without recurring calls or heavy prep.
